For several weeks, once a week, I visited the 'Odensehuis' in Groningen: a warm gathering place for people living with dementia. My visits were simple: I sat down, drank coffee, and joined the conversations that unfolded there.
What seemed ordinary at first slowly revealed something deeper. In repeated stories, in shared silences, in laughter around the table, I found a kind of honesty that felt both fragile and powerful. Sincerity was not abstract, but alive in small gestures, in the openness of people meeting each other just as they are.
This letter grew out of those moments. It is both a reflection and a thank you: an attempt to give words to what I witnessed, and to honor the quiet strength of sincerity in everyday life.
